Impressions

The disappointing thing about Nietzsche is that he admired Emerson.

The strangeness in reading Foucault is that he cites basically no other scholarship on what he's writing about.

writer's block? this is like one of my catch-22 blog excerpts that i post on facebook and twitter... it makes little to no sense out of context, is probably an inside joke anyway, and uses less than 125 characters.

i think i remember one of my lecturers commenting on how they thought Foucault thought of himself as entirely original because of this, when in fact there were plenty of people with similar ideas before him. i guess she didn't like him. i've never read anything by him, so I won't comment
